Eligibility for this membership category requires a qualification that is at least equivalent to QQI Level 6 in an engineering or science discipline. This requirement ensures that our membership has a robust knowledge foundation and practical experience in various disciplines, including environmental management, fire safety, and health and safety. Candidates for this category should bring a unique blend of technical expertise and leadership skills.

IIESMS offers an alternative route for Membership. The method of demonstrating knowledge and ability is at the discretion of the National Council or its delegated subcommittee and may be updated periodically. The National Council may waive degree requirements if, in its judgment, an applicant has adequate professional experience, has attained a suitable level of professional standing, and meets the requirements of a competent person as defined within Irish legislation.

By fulfilling these criteria, you can contribute significantly to our mission of safely and effectively integrating people, materials, and energy. Your role within your organisation, whether it involves managing environmental initiatives, overseeing fire safety protocols, or ensuring adherence to health and safety standards, will benefit from the high standards set by IIESMS.

To maintain your status as a Technical Member and ensure your skills, knowledge, and experience remain current, you must keep your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) record updated.

With post-nominal CFSM.IIESMS, you will be recognised for your technical expertise and commitment to the engineering profession. This membership status signifies your dedication to maintaining your field’s highest standards and commitment to continuous professional development.
