The Practitioner in Safety and Health (PSH.IIESMS) credential is designed for recent graduates beginning their safety and health management careers. This certification provides essential resources and support for transitioning from academic study to professional practice.

Educational Qualification


Candidates must have one of the following qualifications:

  • A QQI Level 7 qualification.
  • A primary degree in a relevant field accredited by IIESMS.
  • An equivalent qualification recognised by IIESMS.


Professional Experience


Candidates must have at least three years of relevant postgraduate experience. Although no minimum professional experience is required for this credential, candidates must demonstrate competence in key areas.

  • Effective communication.
  • Professional conduct and ethical practice.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).

Practitioners in Safety and Health credential holders must actively engage in CPD activities to maintain and enhance their professional skills and knowledge. Regular updates to CPD records are required to maintain certification status.

Members who achieve Certified Membership are entitled to use the designatory letters PSH.IIESMS. The fees associated with the certification process include the following:

  • Re-assessment: €250.00
