Awards should recognise evidenced contribution, professional practice and service to the Institute or relevant sectors.

Award Categories
Five discipline awards plus a cross-discipline President's Award.
Industrial Engineering Award
Excellence in process improvement, operational efficiency, lean systems, or manufacturing innovation.
Fire Safety Award
Outstanding contribution to fire safety practice, fire engineering, or fire risk management in Ireland.
Facilities Management Award
Excellence in building services, maintenance management, compliance, or workplace operations.
Safety and Health Award
Outstanding contribution to workplace safety, risk management, or occupational health practice.
Healthcare Award
Excellence in healthcare engineering, healthcare fire safety, or patient environment management.
President's Award
Exceptional cross-discipline contribution to the profession, the Institute, or public safety in Ireland. Any member eligible.
Nomination and Selection
How the awards work.
Nominations Open
The call for nominations opens annually. Any IIESMS member can nominate a colleague, a project, or themselves.
Submission
Nominees submit a short case outlining their achievement. Supporting evidence strengthens the submission.
Review
The National Council reviews all submissions with input from relevant sector group committee chairs.
Selection
Winners selected based on impact, innovation, professional rigour, and contribution to the discipline.
Presentation
Awards presented at the annual IIESMS event. Winners receive a certificate and recognition on the website.
Eligibility
All current IIESMS members are eligible for nomination. Discipline-specific awards are open to members holding the relevant certified grade or working primarily within that discipline.
Projects and initiatives may be nominated where they are led by or significantly involve IIESMS members. Team nominations are welcome.
Self-nominations are accepted and encouraged. There is no nomination fee.
