Committee Members
The members of each IIESMS sector group committee.
Committee appointment is separate
This form is for an invited committee member. Joining IIESMS and joining an optional section are separate earlier steps; submitting this form does not itself award a membership grade or committee appointment.
The agreement below records existing published terms. Confirm the current appointment terms and any fee concession with the Institute before accepting them.
Committee Member Submission
This form is issued by the sector group Chair to members who have been invited to serve on a sector committee. It records your commitment to the committee's terms of reference and your acceptance of the operating rules set out in the Byelaws Operational Rulebook v1.3.
If you have not received an invitation from the Chair of a sector group, you do not need to complete this form. Prospective committee members should first express interest via the sector committees page.
All submissions are confidential and retained under the Institute's GDPR Data Protection Policy. The appointment letter and current governing documents determine the term. Details may be refreshed on re-appointment.
Committee Membership Agreement and Commitment Statement(Required)
1. As a valued part of the Institute of Industrial Engineers and Safety Management Systems (IIESMS), the committee member agrees to promote the organisation professionally and ethically, recognising the mutual benefits this commitment brings. By adhering to high standards of conduct, the committee member enhances the organisation's reputation and contributes to its mission.
2. The committee member will actively work to expand the network within their relevant field of expertise. This includes identifying and connecting with potential members, partners, and stakeholders who can contribute to and benefit from the IIESMS community. Such efforts help to strengthen the organisation and increase its impact.
3. The committee member agrees to engage with the committee in developing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions certified by the CPD Standards Office. These sessions are designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of members within the committee member's field of expertise, ensuring continuous professional growth and adherence to industry standards.
4. The committee member also agrees to review applications for membership in the sector group to which they belong. This responsibility involves assessing the qualifications and experience of applicants to ensure they meet the standards required for membership, thereby maintaining the integrity and quality of the sector group.
5. Any registration-fee waiver is subject to the Institute’s confirmation under the applicable committee appointment terms.
6. The Institute will confirm the applicable membership invoicing arrangements and appointment date with the appointed member.
7. Where confirmed under the applicable appointment terms, a committee member may invite five (5) colleagues to apply for IIESMS membership with a registration-fee waiver. The Institute must confirm the concession before it is relied upon. Section participation is an optional, separate application after membership acceptance. This provision helps to grow the sector group with like-minded, competent individuals, enhance the network, and foster a collaborative environment.
8. Applicants must pay the applicable membership subscription and meet the criteria for the core grade sought. Any later specialist assessment or committee appointment has its own qualification and experience requirements. This ensures that the sector group comprises qualified and experienced professionals, maintaining the group's high standards and effectiveness.
Confirm committee participation
