Common questions about the IIESMS membership application process

Apply for the highest grade you can evidence through completed qualifications, relevant experience and sector work. Use Find Your Grade before applying if you are unsure; the Membership Committee confirms the final grade after review.

Provide a current CV, relevant completed qualification evidence and a summary of experience for your requested core grade. Section-specific evidence is assessed separately if you later apply to a specialist section or grade.

A one-time registration fee of EUR 15 applies to all new members. Annual subscription fees vary by grade, from EUR 30 (Student) to EUR 325 (Fellow).

The review time depends on the route and whether the required evidence is complete. Ask IIESMS for the current expected timescale when applying; the Institute will advise if further information or a professional interview is needed.

Yes. Existing members can seek grade progression as their qualifications and experience develop. Use the dedicated Fellowship application for Fellow, or the later section application to request specialist grade assessment.

Yes, where they are equivalent to the Irish National Framework of Qualifications levels specified for each grade.
