Choose the IIESMS Fellowship route you can evidence

Academic Route: QQI/NFQ Level 9 (Masters or postgraduate diploma), five years of senior experience, contribution in at least two professional areas and 30 hours of CPD annually.

Professional Achievement Route: Member or Certified grade for at least five years, ten years of senior practice, and nomination by two existing IIESMS Fellows or the National Council.

Lean Six Sigma Route: Master Black Belt with seven years leading programmes. The Academic and Lean Six Sigma routes do not require nomination.

Existing members may apply to upgrade. New applicants who meet the published Fellowship criteria may apply directly. Section membership is optional and is a separate application after Institute membership is confirmed.

Before you submit

Fellowship carries an annual subscription of €325 and 30 hours of CPD each year. The one-off €15 registration fee applies when first joining IIESMS; it is not a new registration charge for an existing member upgrading. The Institute will confirm payment arrangements.

Upload your CV and current CPD record. Add the qualification evidence required by your route and, for Professional Achievement, nomination evidence from two existing Fellows or the National Council. Use the statement fields to connect each claim to evidence.

Submission does not award Fellowship or permission to use F.IIESMS. Fellowship admission is determined by the National Council following professional review.

Prepare your professional statement

Explain your senior responsibilities, leadership and contribution. Give dates, your own role, outcomes and references to the supporting evidence. For the Academic Route, show contribution in at least two professional areas.

Gather supporting evidence

Prepare your current CV, qualification evidence for your chosen route, current CPD record and relevant supporting documents. Include the required nominations for the Professional Achievement Route. Redact unrelated personal or confidential information.

Complete and submit

Complete the form, check your evidence and declarations, and submit the application. Prepare your statements separately and complete the form in one sitting.

Assessment and interview

The Membership Committee assesses the application and arranges the professional interview, normally 30–45 minutes. The National Council determines Fellowship admission; the Institute communicates the decision and any further requirements.
