Sector committees are established by the National Council to represent each of the five IIESMS disciplines. Committee members are drawn from the relevant membership base and appointed based on expertise and willingness to serve.

Each sector committee is led by an appointed chair. The chair coordinates meetings, supports committee planning and reports relevant sector activity back to the National Council.

Sector committees typically meet on a quarterly basis, though additional meetings may be called as needed to address specific projects or issues within the discipline.

Sector committees are advisory to the National Council. Each committee chair provides regular reports and recommendations to Council, which retains decision-making authority on all Institute matters.
