About the Technician Grade

The Technician grade recognises technically qualified practitioners across all five IIESMS disciplines. You need an NFQ Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) and relevant professional experience. CPD is 20 hours per year with a 50/50 split between formal and informal activities. The fee is EUR 195.

Holding the T.IIESMS designation signals to employers, clients, and professional peers that you have met defined standards of qualification and experience, and that you are subject to the Institute's ongoing CPD requirements. The designation can be used after your name in professional correspondence, reports, and documentation.

The Technician grade requires a minimum qualification at NFQ Level 6, with relevant professional experience. The Lean Six Sigma equivalence for this grade is Green Belt. Annual membership is EUR 195, with 20 hours of CPD required annually and records audited every 3 years.

Members at this grade can participate fully in their chosen sector group, attend CPD events, contribute to committee activities, and work towards higher grades as their qualifications and experience develop.
